Testimonials

Jack is an amazing physiotherapist. He came to me, did a very thorough and professional assessment of my painful, stiff shoulder, listened to my issues, talked over my needs and came up with a straightforward exercise and treatment plan. I followed his instructions and was amazed that after just two weeks the range of motion in my shoulder has greatly improved and I am now able to more fully participate in yoga classes and gardening. I am certain I will continue to improve but would have no hesitation in asking Jack to help me further if necessary. Thank you so much Jack.

Working with Jack has is a great experience. I find Jack very flexible, accommodating and honest. He is knowledgeable in his professionalism and this shows in the treatment he provides me. He is more than just a physio, he shows a genuine concern in me and goes over and above.

Jack has provided a fantastic 1:1 service to my father who is 87 and had mobility issues.

He has given my father such confidence and it’s wonderful to see him walking outside his house again. Thank you Jack.

I am a close friend to a family, in which the husband unfortunately suffered a stroke in 2024. I am a lawyer, and formerly worked as a specialist brain injury lawyer for many years, meaning that I have extensive experience of seeing patients and their families in clinical settings and also in observing interactions between patients and their therapists. I recall being impressed with Jack's approach and professionalism and also that he had managed to get Chris excited about therapy.

Jack is not only a physiotherapist, he seeks to understand his patients holistically and engage with them meaningfully at their level - something which is absolutely essential in his field of work, but all too often missing. Jack built a great rapport with both Chris and all of his family (who were going through the worst time of their lives) and his role in their rehabilitation journey should not be understated or overlooked.

I had the unfortunate experience of having a stroke at the age of 35, having been a regular runner and gym attendee. I was initially unable to walk or use my left hand and arm at all. Thankfully I met Jack early on in my recovery. Stroke recovery is tough, both physically and mentally, but Jack’s visits always filled me with positivity; he understood my goals and encouraged me to get the most out of every appointment.

Sessions were challenging without ever feeling overwhelming or unachievable. Jack always made time to listen to my concerns in a supportive and reassuring manner. He also explained the exercises to my husband so that I could practice in between sessions with the help I needed. Eventually, Jack helped me to get back to the gym by coming along to explain how I could use the equipment safety. Jack’s support was absolutely instrumental in my recovery and I would recommend him without hesitation.

Thank you very much Jack for all your help and support with the weekly exercises and helping me regain my confidence. You were such a great support. I will miss your weekly visits and will continue to do the exercises you taught me.

I would like to give feedback to Jack, my wife's Physiotherapist. We have only had Jack for 2 sessions after a brain injury post fall and I am most impressed on how he is giving her the confidence to stand, but also taking it gently and makes some of the exercises like a little fun game which doesn't seem like 'exercises'. Jack has slowly started building her confidence back and although we still have a way to go I am certain Jack will help her stand.

Jack has managed more in two sessions than other health services have managed in weeks and as for me I am very pleased and worth all the time, a big thankyou from me and well done Jack.

I can highly recommend Jack Tavener as an excellent professional and gentleman.
